“Even when a social problem is so vast as to be insoluble in its entirety, it’s still worth mitigating. We may not succeed in educating ALL the girls in poor countries, or in preventing ALL women from dying in childbirth, or in saving ALL the girls who are imprisoned in brothels.” But it can make a big difference to one person who was helped.

I am just really amazed by the organization we've chosen for our September donation recipient, and I am so honored to tell you about them. I just finished reading a book called Half the Sky which focuses on many issues that women around the globe face. I'll share more about that later but one of those issues is trafficking - when people are taken and forced to do something (often sexual) against their will. We tend to think of trafficking as something that happens in far off places, but we're slowly learning that it is an issue right here at home. The organization we're donating to...
